What You Need to Do:
- Once you’ve determined the right BTU size for your space, use your ZIP code to confirm that the mini-split system you're considering is eligible for energy rebates and tax credits through the the EcoRebate Tool.
- Have the system installed by a licensed professional contractor.
- Retain all purchase and installation documentation for tax purposes.

Local Utility Rebates - Based on Your ZIP Code
Your local energy provider may offer additional rebates depending on where you live.
Use the Eco Rebate Center's tool to check which local utility rebates you qualify for based on your ZIP code.
Local utility rebates across California:
- Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) – Up to $2,000
- Pacific Power – Up to $1,500
- Sonoma Clean Power – Up to $1,000
- Peninsula Clean Energy (San Mateo County) – Up to $1,500
- Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA) – Around $864

HEEHRA Rebates - Up to $8,000 for Eligible Households
If your income qualifies, California’s HEEHRA program offers up to $8,000 in extra rebates.
Must be installed by a TECH Clean–certified contractor.
